It's a heatwave! Somebody told us that when the snow stops, the rain begins. I grew up in a place that has the second highest rainfall in the nation, and I miss the sound of it on the roof. We only get an inch or two here every year. The new house has a metal roof and the bedrooms are under the eaves. More and more things to look forward to. Tomorrow is March 1--fifteen days to departure, twenty three to arrival.

I know positively that spring is about to sproing!

Friday we had what my grandmother used to call a "line storm" - extremely windy with some precip, any kind at all, mostly it's the strong winds that make a "line storm". It's supposed to be the "line" between the cold seasons and the warm ones. We get one every fall, too.

And then she always said, "If March comes in like a lion, it will leave like a lamb." So on Sunday we will get pelted once again with snow - on the first of March.

Hopefully the end of March will be pretty balmy!

Thanks Nor'Eastah... that is not a term I have heard before but I am adding it to my list of "named storms of the spring."

The "spring" is falling from the sky outside my window right now. We're expect to get about 8-12 inches of fluffy, white "spring" by tomorrow. I hate spring.

Consider it "poor man's fertilizer".

Default Look on the bright side...

We spring ahead next Sunday (March 8) at 2AM. Although we loose an hour, we at least can see the precipitation from the inevitable train of March snowstorms further into the evening hours.
