Default Presque Isle Fort Fairfield relocation

I was born and brought up in Maine but have been living overseas for the last 16 years. I'm looking to buy a house and decompress a little before deciding what to do next.

I'm planning to fly to Presque Isle in June and have a look at real estate. My move is planned for 15 months from now. Any advice on the merits and demerits of real estate and communities in the area would be greatly appreciated.

Presque Isle is a college and agricultural town with some logging thrown in. There won't be much opportunity for translation of the Korean language. It's a good town to decompress in.

Here's another suggestion: Check out Welcome to Lincoln, Maine!. The next town over is Lee. There you will find Lee Academy where there are students from Korea, Vietnam, Red China, Singapore and possibly others. If you want to work in addition to "decompressing" contact them. They are on the web.

Hi Maineinkorea,

I'm living in Presque Isle right now. The economy has really slowed down real estate here and in most places in the US. There is a large inventory of houses on the market right now.

I was born and raised in Northern Maine and Presque Isle is my favorite place to be. Mainly because it is the hub of northern maine. If you live in other towns up here you'll probably find yourself driving to PI for some of the stuff you need or to get better deals on common items.

There are great x-country and mountain bike trails here, and atv & snowmobile trails are some of the best anywhere, if you prefer that.
