Default Heating oil prices continue to drop in Maine

Heating oil prices continue to drop in Maine - Boston.com

The average cash price for heating oil in Maine has dropped another nickel to $2.15 a gallon.

Propane fell 15 cents in the past week to $2.77 a gallon.

Kerosene was selling for an average of $2.60 a gallon.

YEEHA! I'm going to call the company that services our house up there and tell them top off all the tanks. Or should we wait another day or two? Most of the time, such price drops are fleeting, but on occassion, they continue to drop for a while. What do you think? It did the same thing about a year ago, prices dropped in June, then went back up again, though not as far, and stablized.

That's great news for Mainers! You guys could all use a BREAK!

Unfortunately, down here in RI, the price of crude can go down $5, and it won't be reflected in our heating oil price at all. Probably because by the next 2 days, oil goes up again!

No breaks for us! That's why I installed both a pellet stove and a propane heater last summer! We keep it nice and toasty in here....
