From a home on the range to a new home in Maine
Nine day until we leave, nine days on the road--how many does that make? My mind is in too much of muddle to do the math. I can't even remember what's on my to do list. Hubby is just as bad. Trying to get arrangements in order in Calais, trying to do the same here, get our house sold, deal with all the things that picked NOW to go wrong, and accept invites from friends that you can't say no to because it will be the last time we see them before we go. Moving trucks due Thursday--if the house isn't ready, oh, well. THEY have to pack it all up, not me. I just keep looking at that pic I took of our new home, three feet deep in snow, and wonder if the movers will have to unload the truck in a snowstorm.

Don't worry, everything will get done and it'll be over before you know it. It's a lot to do and I understand you may feel a bit frazzled at times. I'm sure El can empathise with you! I hope it all goes well and smoothly for you.

Casper, I can relate. When we moved here from Austin, we got an offer on our house in Texas while we were on the road to Maine, on the last day of our trip up! We had to fax documents from our hotel in Orono -we were staying there for a few days after we arrived while we cleaned the new place and waited for the propane to be delivered.

Chin up! It'll be over before you know it. This time of year, the weather in Maine can turn on a dime, so it may only be a foot and a half of snow by the time the trucks get here.

Have a safe trip; if it makes you feel better, at least your move is paid :-) I think life in Maine is going to be great, snow and all!

Thanks, guys. Diablogun, when are you moving? And you had better make d*****d sure you "reveal your true identity" when you get to Calais. (Insert smiley face with bandit mask here)

I am leaving AZ on the 20th. I will be going to the port at Portland, but I am sure I will get to know your DH through the grapevine :-) By the way, what route are you guys driving up there?
