In search of a vet in Old Town/Bangor area
Can anyone recommend a vet around Old Town or Bangor. My dog just needs her yearly checkup and shots. Thanks!

I've used Broadway Veterinary Clinic for years. Dr. Amisano is warm and compasionate, Dr Albert is caring and kind.

hi, ekh32,
I like Dr. Leighton at Penobscot Vet. She is very nice, caring, and takes time to explain things to me.

My parents used the vet in Veazie when they lived there. My sister called them when her cat broke her leg. Her own vets were closed. She'd never been to the Veazie vet but they were willing to see her "as soon as you can get here." She didn't have to wait when she got there, they were waiting for her. Dad uses Broadway Vet now and is pleased with them. My daughter uses Penobscot Veterinary Clinic and likes them a lot. I don't think I've heard anything bad about vets in your area in a long time.

I second Penobscot Vet. services on Davis rd. We have been taking our family pets there since they opened in the 70's and they have always been great.

Vets
I like Bangor Veterinary Hospital. I've had Peter Ritchie as a vet for my animals - it seems like forever.
He was my horses vet back when he was still a farm vet (he's out of that business now - unfortunately) and never did I have someone explain to me in such depth of what was going on. He not only told me what I wanted to know, but also what I never knew, didn't know existed, didn't want to know, or couldn't care about.
I take my dog to Tori..she's great too...very caring.

When my fiance's puppy broke its leg we went to the E-Vet and they were extremely nice and were actually really reasonable. They didn't charge us any of the emergency fee's that they usually charge. We went there probably 4 or 5 times just to have some check ups and stuff like that done as we were not at all happy with the vet in Northport. The E-Vet recommended us to goto a Vet over by the Lucerne Inn. I never actually went there simply because of the distance as I'm in Belfast...but I figured I'd just throw my two cents in lol.

I ended up going to Timberland. Its right down the street from me. They were good and the prices were pretty reasonable.
