We have an accepted offer on our house!!! I think I'm still in shock. We listed 2 weeks ago, had 8 showings, and got 2 offers yesterday. The second offer is less than 2 % off our asking price. We accepted it verbally right away. Our realtor was here first thing this morning so that we could sign everything. The closing is in... 19 days!! The buyers relocated here from Wilmington and are living in corporate housing right now with 3 kids, so they're in a BIG hurry to move in. Of course we still have to make it through the home inspection, but if it goes well, we'll be in Maine by April 17th! I have SO much to do now, most importantly finding a place to live. DH's employer is working hard on his end to find us a rental, and I'm scouring the internet too. Although I'm freaking out about the short time we have to get everything done, we're also extremely excited and happy! Gotta get packing now. ( I seriously can't believe this is happening... This is so great! )

Default Wow! Another congratulations!

Some things really are meant to be, aren't they?!

I was sending good thoughts your way that things would go smoothly. (not saying that's *why* it all happened so well for you....)

Have a wonderful move home to Maine! Better get packing, eh?!

OMG! What awesome news!! That's very impressive in the RE market we've had to deal with for the last year or so. I'm so happy it worked for you so quickly. So, when, where, how, etc?????

Even our realtor was surprised that we got such a great offer so fast! The average time to sell in this area is about 4 months. I think we just priced it right, and I'm sure the first-time home buyer tax credit and low interest rates didn't hurt either. Plus the buyers needed something fast, and we were willing to give them that. We're just so happy that it's finally happening! It's been such a long road to get to this point. Now I just need to tear myself away from City-Data and actually get packing! 19 days to go!

The Great Maine Migration continues! It is meant to be! I got here in time for the March lunch meeting--that's tomorrow, and I am soooooo excited! Maybe love can make the April meeting. And I have the number for a guy who owns a little cabin at Bear Cove on Lake Meddybumps. We looked at it, but it was just too small. Might be right for you. I saw in the paper where it was still for rent. It's small but nice. Twenty feet to the edge of the water. It might do until you find something better.

We found a place to live, with 2 weeks to spare! We found a very nice house to rent for 6 months. It's a remodeled farmhouse near Union. It was gutted and rehabbed last year. New insulation, windows, etc. We're so relieved to have a place to move into when we arrive. Can't wait to get settled...
