Default Diners, Drive in's and Dives

Diners, Drive In's and Dives..... This is one of my Favorite shows, because that style of food is my favorite(nothing beats nice portions of comfort food). So some of the other posts talked about good places to eat. But I was wondering about Diners and such in Maine. What is your favorite local restaurant/Diner Drive in and Dive....and what is best on the Menu.
To start ... Moody's diner is great and I love the walnut pie yum.

I have a FOND affection for the Strike Zone in Old Orchard Beach. It serves up pretty good (cooked perfectly), BIG, hamburgers (I believe they are about 11oz.), giant, delicious calzones, cheap (I believe 2.50 for a big bowl) and good Chili, and good pizza. It's not pretty, it's not spectacular, but it's good and it's open year round. It's cheap, good and friendly.

Maybe it is west coast east coast thing, but the places back east always have a menu with a ton of stuff on it is like two or three times bigger the the menu's back on the west coast.

I have been hearing rave remarks about "Rapid Rays" a little hamburg joint...right down near the Saco River on Main Street in Saco.....looks like a little diner...but I think it is strictly hamburgers (hams) and no tables or booths. From what I am told it is a Saco institution.

I commented earlier on another thread that I went to the Maine Diner in Wells today....that is a full diner experience with traditional diner food (shepherds pie, chicken ala king, etc) and truly special fried sea food (light crisp and non greasy) and great breakfasts all day and a bottomless $1 cup of coffee....good fresh coffee.

I recommend Raymonds Variety in Lee on the Trans Maine Trail where everything is home made. The muffins are awesome if you are in a hurry at breakfast. I like their hash with onions in it. You can get home fries with onions. Even the bread is home made and the French toast is awesome. I think they put a touch of cinnamon in the batter. Don't eat the last blueberry muffin. It's mine.

My sister works at Raymonds. We're kind of partial to the place.

DDD hit up a place about 3 blocks from me last year. Can't get in the place after 5:00 ever since. Double-edged sword.

My all time favorite dive burned down years ago in Caribou. The ol' Dew Drop Inn. What a dump, but large portions and decent food if you knew what to order.

I have to agree with Raymonds in Lee. Good food and good people working there. Don't know if they are still open, but John's in Van Buren is a good little dive. I HIGHLY recommend the roast beef special they have every single day.
