FiveTen1988 is on a distinguished road
There are plenty of fixer-upper farms north of Bangor, New England is full of old homes that need people to fix them up. I personally think it's the way to go instead of ruining land by building on it.

If you look up any realtor in the Bangor area, you're sure to find farmland/old farmhouses for sale. They may look a little rickety, but they're worth fixing up. We bought a fixer-upper 1756 farmhouse in Monmouth with about 30 acres, and with (quite a lot of) work we had it up and running in about a year, and it's definitely been worth it.

Cool Maine relocation suggestions

You might try the Bucksport Area, South of Bangor Maine on Penobscot Bay
beautiful area. about 10-15 miles from Bangor

Newburgh, Hampden area is West of Bangor and would be commuting distance.

Keep in mind these are very small towns and services would have to drive into Bangor for

Old Town and/or Orono might be options too
Orono is where the UNiversity of Maine is, fairly close to Bangor and driving distance to both Acadia National Park and Baxter State park---area...

Milo might be an option as well, though is about 20 miles north of Bangor

For Augusta Area I might suggest

Waterville area, its about 10-15 miles North of Augusta
beautiful country out there

Rome, Belgrade, and Summerhaven would all be good possibilities as well
North of Augusta

West of Augusta I might suggest
Leeds near Lake Androscoggin,
Winthrop
Manchester

South and West of Augusta I might recommedn
Lewiston-Auburn area
its about 20-25 miles from Augusta
and also 20-25 miles from Portland
so would be about halfway

South of Augusta I might suggest
Gardner, Hallowell
Randolph
Richmond

also Bath and Brunswick
would be about
15 miles from portland and about
20-25 from Augusta
right on the mid-coast maine

Portland Area I would suggest
Freeport-Brunswick area
Newtown
old Orchard Beach
Cape Porpoise
Kennebunk
Kennebunkport
Arundel

Gray Maine near Sebago lake is right on the highway
and about 10 miles North of Portland
near Sebago Lake

Some of the towns around Sebago lake might be worth looking into as well

I also hear Bridgton is a nice area near Sebago and Long lakes
about 20-25 miles NW of Portland with access to the Western Maine Mountain area.

Again
Auburn -Lewiston might be a possibility too
also about halfway between Portland and Augusta
20-25 miles either way

Anyway hope these suggestions help

Sincerely,
Jeff D.
Winchester, MA
