Ranger - Now be nice

I would never use a tree and a rope in such a manner, I am certain that neither would you.

We are both far too polite and friendly to do anything like that.

Besides 'SSS' stands for 'Shoot it', 'Shovel it', and 'Shut-up about it'.

Shooting is much faster.

Shoveling disposes of the evidence in a 'polite manner'.

The biggest part is to Shut-up about it. After all we want to be polite now don't we?

You can very well shut-up about it, if your telling folks that your about to string them up from a tree.

We enjoy the peace and beauty of Maine, the friendly attitude of folks, and the safety that we all feel here.

Now just SSS, and be a good neighbor.

Well, there you go, RANGER. Cops will tell you that they prefer deterents to keep crime down rather than having people fall victim to a criminal act. Attitudes in Maine toward guns and dogs, etc., remind of where I grew up in GA. And yet, the crime rate here is down while there, it was second only to Atlanta. Go figure. The town where we lived in Texas was right on the border, and the crime amounted to an occassional break in. I think of lot of it has to do with the people. And I've found people in Maine to be a lot like the people I knew in Texas--good, honest, hardworking, ready to offer a helping hand to anybody. Here, like there, folks are ready to work for what they get. They don't need to steal it.
And then, for those who aren't so honest, there are always those deterents you mentioned.
