April Vacation Kennebunkport
We would like to visit Maine, from our home in CT, during April school vacation. Have only ever been to Bar Harbor (loved it). Looking for a shorter drive this time so we are thinking of Kennebunkport area. In addition to stocking up on summer clothes from the outlets, what do you recommend in the area? We have children aged 13 and 7. Any hotels with cool indoor pools? Any scenic areas where we could walk out on rocks or along shoreline? Any good lobster available this time of year? Are tour boats running? Thanks for any suggestions!

kennebunk beach is awesome and there is a breakwater at the mouth of the kennebunk river, you can walk on and a small rocky beach on the kennebunkport side, off ocean avenue.
its a beautiful area!! i lived there many moons ago!

the Breakwater at the beach, Federal Jack's Restaurant and Pub, Laudholm's Farms in Wells (10 minute drive), If you like to go for walks or bike rides, take the bridle path (runs parallel to the Sea Road). You can ride all through Kennebunk and right to the beach. The Trolley Museum on Log Cabin Road is interesting.

Not sure if it's a seasonal restaurant or not, but if Nunan's in Cape Porpoise (Kennebunkport) is open, it's a must for lobster. I second Goose Rocks or Fortunes Rocks for walking.

The most fun pool around in here :

It's in South Portland - you enter the pool from the inside, but most of it is outdoors, really fun in winter at night !! And no too far from Kennebunkport !
