The First Sign of Summer
Yippie!!!
The ice went out at Moosehead Lake yesterday. Very early and more than welcomed. You can now navigate from East Cove to the head of the lake, about 40 miles.
Be sure to check out the webcams on the following site!

I saw them.
Oh, my!
In their short shorts and bikini tops, Flip flops and pony tails, yes I have seen the first signs of summer here.

Down here on the island, I see truckloads and truckloads of lobster traps in transit- the lobstermen are fixing up their gear and ordering new traps. That's a sure sign of summer! And the ice cream shops are starting to open.

Spring wait for no man. Or woman or weather, or anything else for that matter. I couldn't believe it when the snow (FINALLY!) melted and the grass underneath was already turning green.
