Okay,... my .02 ........ It will be important this coming WINTER that there is enough anti-viral medications (tamiflu) available. This flu, like some of the other bad flu seasons of the past, will dally around over the summer but, come the cold weather it may very well become a real problem. I had the "Hong Kong" flu when I was a kid. It was a pretty bad strain and, I remember well just how badly it hit our family and neighbors.

"The swine flu outbreak that has alarmed the world for a week now appears less ominous, with the virus showing little staying power in the hardest-hit cities and scientists suggesting it lacks the genetic fortitude of past killer bugs.
President Barack Obama even voiced hope Friday that it may turn out to be no more harmful than the average seasonal flu".....
Swine flu may be less potent than first feared
Can anyone else hear Gomer Pyle in the background, or is that just me?
Hopefully, this new enlightenment will allow Maine's schools to resume business as usual, as they likely should have all along.

Keep in mind that even in Mexico --- a country not exactly famous for its quality health care --- there have been 16 deaths, and the majority of those cases had complications due to other infections. All current cases in the U.S. have patients recovering at home.
So unless you already have a compromised immune system, relax. Use caution and sense, but you don't need to wear a gas mask to the grocery store or anything.
As a Mainer, I'm more concerned about tick season than swine flu.

'Spreading the Joy around"
I like that!
Like one gate guard that I pass by most days, when I ask him how he is doing? He says: "I am living the dream"
By the way; here is a photo that was sent to me of a kid 'spreading the joy'.
