Overtime is paid at one and half times the basic hourly rate for time worked beyond an assigned shift. The value of State paid Health and Dental insurance is $310.74 biweekly. The value of the State's share of employee's retirement is 26.35%.
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey
Three sergeants with annual base salaries of $103,760 were the biggest earners:
* La Guardia Airport-based Thomas Hoey raked in $154,495 in OT.
* Laurence Goldberg, also based at La Guardia, billed $138,262 in OT.
* Nicholas Kowana, assigned to PATH, took in $133,378 in OT.
But while supervisors topped the list, some cops also collected big:
* Canine handler Brett Porigow added $122,007 to his $86,467- a-year job checking luggage, cargo and passengers for explosives at La Guardia.
* And John Zultanky, a PA Police Academy firing-range instructor, made $118,125 beyond his $86,467 salary.
Ralph Berlangieri made $102,700 last year. He's not an executive or a lawyer or an engineer. He's a Port Authority gardener who cares for trees, shrubs and flowers at Newark Airport.
This gardener rakes it in - along with 50 cops at 200G
