Default cell phone service in wiscasset

I'm going to be in Wiscasset for the remainder of the year, and am at the end of my cell phone contract. I'd like to sign up with a provider that has good coverage in Wiscasset and the Midcoast..I've heard that the majority of the providers only offer spotty coverage for the majority of the area, but I'm wondering if anyone in the area can tell me what provider they've had the most success with.

I was just checking this out last night as I'm going to leave Nextel. I was surprised that Verizon's coverage map shows full coverage of the Mid-Coast. By the way, I'm not sure about the true Sprint side of Sprint/Nextel, but my Nextel coverage stopped at Wiscassett the last time I visited the area. AT&T was spotty from there on up.

DH lives in Bath and I live in Belfast. We travel back and forth on the weekends and have had no problems.

Verizon is good for most of the coastal area. It drops out in Brunswick, lower Harpswell and South Freeport until you hit Yarmouth. It is annoying for us as we have a camp in South Freeport and cannot use the cell phones from there. Otherwise we have had few drop out areas with Verizon. My brother has AT&T and gets only fair reception statewide. He does ,however get better reception in Brunswick than I do with Verizon. Since he lives in Brunswick AT&T works out well for him.
