We were in outer Auburn near Lake Auburn on route 4 today. I was under the impression that powered boats were not allowed on Lake Auburn as it is the water source for Lewiston and Auburn. We saw a bunch of boats on the lake all with outboards. Can anyone enlighten me on the laws for Lake Auburn?

I heard that Lake Auburn had a horsepower limit. I'm not sure what size, but I also understood that there is a ban on any swimming or physical contact with the water since it is a municipal reservoir. My DH re-certified his lake monitoring statu there this summer.
