Smile Moving to Wells

My wife and I are planning to move south from a beautiful estate in Aroostook County, northern Maine to a smaller place in Wells for our "maturing years." My wife is originally from Lyman and so for her it is moving back home. We've raised our family of five children in northern Maine in a beautiful open area. Lots of land to farm, snowsled, 4-wheel and raise horses. What a great place to raise a family! But now it is time to downsize and enjoy the coast. Anyone with knowledge of quiet places to live in Wells with possibly 1-5 acres, we'd love to hear from you. Or if you simply love the Kennebunk, Wells and Ogunquit area, we'd like to hear from you too. Blessings to you.

I would encourage you to look anyplace other than Wells. It's my least favorite city, due to lack of forethought of the town council. It's all about money. Wells is overrun with condos, cottages, time-shares, it's really upsetting. The locals hate the traffic, what it does to the water supply, etc. If any of you know the Grey Gull, it was bought by a contractor and demolished, with a sign saying "Lots for Sale." Disgusting.

We actually preferred Kennebunk but the taxes are twice Wells. Have you experienced anything positive about Wells? Just looking for the inside scoop. Thanks.
