I hope so, I talked to and old time farmer and he told me this is a rare three peat coming up this year.

We have 5.2 inches of rain in the gauge so far since Friday morning when I last dumped it. The lake is up a good foot and a half. She's right at the top of a rock I have never seen submerged. One bad thing is that we likely lost this year's crop of loon chicks with all the nests flooded. Too bad. We have two pairs of loons on the lake and I have not seen a chick yet this year. Loons are territorial and there is one pair at each end of the lake.

We were in Southern NH for a graduation, which it rained for, on Thursday, then rain there again all day Friday until about 3p.m. Thank goodness it let up and the sun came out just in time for my grand daughter's graduation party. They had a tent set up, but it was about 10 x 20, so that wouldn't have been big enough if it kept on raining. About 60 or more showed up altogether for her celebration between 4 and 1:30 when the last of the kids drifted off home. It was a great time - as there were grads - post grads - family - friends - some of her rugby team and neighbors. They have lived in the same neighborhood for almost 18 years so it seemed like "old home week" for some. She heads of to Northeastern in Boston in Sept. along with 5 others from her graduating class. One even got a full scholarship. Great bunch of kids

I am sick to death of the rain. When we got home yesterday. Saturday, someone said it had rained 4 inches. Kinda looks like a jungle here, and no definite sun predicted til Friday.

The river just above forest beekeeper's place rose six feet in the last 2 days. Check the link:

It has rained 5.2 inches here at camp since Friday morning. The Mattawamkeag River is rising very fast. Most small streams are over their banks.

They had to suspend construction of the Junction Wharf almost three weeks ago because of high water!

This may be easier to 'see'

I used to set up at Scott's and Lakeside in the dead of winter, for lack of any better place to sell antiques that time of year, The temps for us, would be balmy, and we would run around in T-shirts and shorts, in the middle of February. All your women would be bundled up in fur coats. We were always swamped with buyers because we stood out, (and we had all that fresh New England merchandise.)

I'm sorry you are depressed by this summer. It has been great here in Corinth, especially for the garden. And I have to say that a great many bikers have been out and enjoying the season -- even with cloudy days -- on every day that it has not been POURING (which is most of them) in the past month.

Many of these folks -- who stop in at the store where I work for gas and snacks -- are not even close to "all season bikers" and didn't get their wheel out as early as I would have, if I still had a bike.

Get out there, get the wind in your face and enjoy the scenery! Even sans sun, I'll bet you'll feel better!
