I'm assuming you've already checked out the individual city websites, newspapers for each town and visitors bureau and Chamber of Commerce sites. They have all been very accurate in depicting life in each town as we've been researching. You can also check out the City-Data page for each for year-round weather stats. They seem very accurate as we've followed the weather up the last two years.
Now whether or not you can handle the cold or like it there, only you will be the judge of that once there. No-one can answer that for you. You'll either love it or hate it, but either way, you'll probably know right away.

What other information do you need?
We live local and are available to answer most anything.

Choose Gorham
I currently live in Gorham. I love both places (I lived in Bangor for about 7 years), but Gorham is closer to the rest of the world. Bangor does offer proximity to Bar Harbor (and other midcoast destinations), but Gorham offers proximity to the rest of New England. Gorham is only about 2 hours by car from Boston. It's a beautiful town with great schools.
