Moose Watching
I am starting to plan ahead and next time I come up I want to see a (preferably more than 1 ) moose. Where is the best place to go? I'm assuming someone like me would have to take a guided tour since I'm not real "outdoorsy".

Nah, you don't have to worry about not being "outdoorsy" to see meese.
Take Rt.#26 North out of Newry to Milan N.H, then across 16 to Rt.#17 South back down to Rt. #2. Man, many moose on this loop.
3 days ago we were traveling Rt.120 and a yearling was ahead of us walking down the pavement. 2 miles up, at the old Bartlett farm, a large bull was feeding in the bog below the pasture.

The plural of 'moose'; is it 'mooses' or 'meese'?

One moose is a moose. Thirty five moose are....moose-there is no plural.

I just saw a moose while standing on my dock admiring the sunset. Took her picture too.

In my eyes, the most guaranteed way to see a moose is to head to Millinocket, then head up the Golden road about supper time anytime from now to September. Turn around and head back toward Millinocket when you have seen enough moose. There are vans of folks doing exactly that in the evenings. Don't know the name of the businesses that do that, but you will see vans with 10 people get out to photograph moose. It's almost like whale watching tours...there are actually businesses that take folks on moose photographing trips...and they are on the Golden Road. For those that don't know what that is, it's a paved private road...American Logger comes to mind. Don't argue with a log truck as to who has the right of way, but in the evenings you won't see many loaded trucks...but always be wary of meeting one. Also the moose are used to seeing people so will not run off like most moose will if you stop to try to photograph them.

I second the Golden Road suggestion. We were there Sunday.

If you want a guided moose tour there are several that operate out of Greenville.
