Pretty much our plan too! Besides I'm not feeling all that patriotic this year for some reason.

I'll be selling beer and cigs to the local population of Levant, plus throwing the occasional pizza, I expect.

Judging by all the polling I have done for the last week, Independence Day will be the kick off for a very long summer for all of us, up here. Have to make up for this crappy spring tourist season, ya know! Business has been off by about 80%, by some accounts.

4th plans
I'll be parked by the lake (provided it doesn't downpour) toasting marshmallows, drinking a beer and enjoying the fact that I made it through another year. The DH, the Dh's dad, and I all celebrate our birthdays during the week

For instance my brother cancelled a trip to Greenville just last weekend due to the crappy weather. That's a couple of nights at Indian Hill, a few meals at the Flatlanders and multiple road beers that were not sold!

I just ordered some party favors from Mexico. They will arrive in time for the celebration. I have a suitcase, from an estate sale this spring, chock and block full of all sizes of rockets and noise makers. We will even break out some real ordinance and take care of the three popples the neighbor dropped in my back yard last weekend. Hope he likes the smell of C-4 in the morning!

Well, on the bright side, the touristas will be coming into town by the boatload to shop and eat this weekend. Too crappy to stay at camp too long!
"This being the first anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Rebel Colonies, they ushered in the morning by firing 13 cannons, one for each colony, we suppose. At sunset, the rebel frigates fired another round of 13 guns, each one after the other. As the evening was very still and fine the echo of the guns down the Bay had a grand effect." July 4, 1777 journal entry by a Soldier in the Hessian readout at Portsmouth, RI.
