I'm trying to talk my husband into moving to southern Maine. I'm originally from that area. I lived in NH, MA and Maine. All my family is there and I miss it. Right now we live in Ohio just outside Cleveland. We just spent a vacation in Maine and he loves it there.

Horrific traffic! I'm not sure how we all manage to get through town! Goodness, our post office alone is so big that if you have more than one person in there, it's crowded!

Eastport. My DH has family ties to the area going back to the late 1800's and I fell in love with the water, the people, the slow pace of life.

Isn't Eastport on a coastal island? If so how do you get to it?

It's actually 2 major islands (Carlows' & Moose), a not so major/minor one (Treats) and a bunch of little ones under an acre in size. The Corps of Engineers built a set of causeways in the 30's for a tidal dam series. We just drive that since the bridge washed out in the 50's. Either that or by boat or plane.
