One year anniversary
Well, Wednesday will be our one year anniversary of living in Maine. Lynn and I LOVE it here and are meeting some wonderful people. We have no plans to ever leave Pittsfield (short of the coroner coming to take us away-lol!).
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who introduced us to Pittsfield and who made us feel welcome either in person or via the forum.
All the best,
Lynn and Russ
PS The two of us are still working on some business ideas and have not given up but we are not in a hurry to get something up and running. Thanks for the support and advice.

Congratulations to you. I have fond memories of Pittsfield as that is where my grandparents lived when I was growing up. We fished the river daily, bowled in the 10 cent a string bowling alley, caught movies at the theater, and hung out at the pharmacy where Gram always made us a frappe or a coke float and we'd spin on the stools until we were dizzy.

Congrats
We had heard, that Govenors was trying to work out a deal for Pando's
(Scotty's) In Newport but I've haven't seen any thing going on over there. Lovely's kind of hard to deal with anyway.

Congratulations, Lynn and Russ! So great to hear that everything worked out so well for you both. We've been in Maine for 2 1/2 months now, and we also love it! We feel much more welcome here than we ever did in NC. Maine is a great state, and we're SO glad we decided to make our move happen...

congrats lynn and russ,,,
how bout a fitness club with a restaurant/cafe with specifically a low fat healthy menu theme(make healthy taste good!) a lifestyle theme...many folks may go work out then eat the worst foods possible
could also be a prep kitchen where customers could prepare healthy meals for the week
you could have a nutritionist there for educational "food clinics"
also a good looking woman to give massages (after a hard work-out)
put the customers on video making there meals (or you and lynn), and scroll on tv screens in the health club/ and or restaurant
and put the menu on a scrolling picture frames,(on the tables) with entree pictures, people buy with thier eyes..
have fruit smoothies and many herbal teas,
you could also have a "guest chef of the day" a local customer showing/making there favorite healthy meal (again, make a video of this, and scroll on screens.
"Fresh Starts" is a name id consider
also, you could set up a "mentoring" system in the health club, partner up folks for a buddy-system and encouragement.
just some free advice ( this is the type of place i havent seen but wish was around here)

I guess ugly woman won't bring them in.
I'm thinking something that looks hungarian would look like she could fix whats broken instead of having the "spouse" think your messing about with the "nice looking woman. and she breaks "something"."hummm lol
Congratulations to you both. Don't hurry into anything.. but Mainebrokerman has a good idea there. very interesting.
