Talking Looks Like I'll Be Moving To Maine

The last week of July. I just purchased the wife's one-way ticket to here on the 21st and she'll be driving up with me the following week. About time, just went through a week of 95+ temps with high humidity. Now we're in the upper 80s to low 90s and lower humidity, much more bearable. Not gonna miss it here, I'll miss some of the people I've met and worked with, but not the area.

Looks like I may not have a job when I get there, I was going to transfer from my place of employment to there but they don't have any openings. Can't expect them to make up a position for me or fire someone so I have a job. Guess 13+ years means little now adays lol. The wife said she met someone that works at a processing plant and might be able to get me on there in the maintenance area. So we'll manage some how, always have.

Looking forward to becoming a Maniac

Good luck on the move and in finding a job. Our company just laid off 11 people.

It's all about living within your means. Except for major purchases, home, car etc, if I can't pay cash for it, I don't need it. This country has gotten too used to borrowing and now that's it's time to pay the piper because of the economy people can't because they lived well outside their means. Yea, we'll be hurting for a bit until I find something, but that's life. Gotta make the best of it Wont be the first time we've had to tighten our belts, sure it wont be the last either

I guess I did read that in another post somewhere. Good luck with the move and hopefully the deluge will be over by the time you get here.

Have a safe trip and WELCOME!!! Where area are you moving to?

My wife and I have been up here for a year and LOVE it! People here are friendly and very helpful. The scenery is second to none. We are so glad we moved here and never once had any doubts.

Caribou/Presque Isle area. The wifes work transfered her there. We've been there a few times for vacations and the wife fell in love with the area. Exspecially after she saw her first New England fall

Glad you like it there, I know I will
