thanks for the info....just trying to get some ideas....i think we may visit bangor while we are there....we were only gonna visit portland but i do want to venture out a little...how far is bangor from portland?

No Casinos and I hope it stays that way. Casinos have been up for a vote a couple of times in the last two election cycles and have been defeated both times. Maine people do not want casinos here. It's about 165 miles from Portland to Bangor. Long drive for a day trip.

It really does look very prison-esque there on Main Street. (I know it brings in money, yadda yadda yadda, but every time I see it, it just looks SO out of place there.)
