Maine = Wow!!!
I had the privilege to spend the last week in southern ME and was completely awe struck at how beautiful it was. Everything was so nice and postcard perfect. That was my first visit and definitely won't be my last...I'm coming back.
Just had to tell all you Mainers out there what a great place you live in.

Don't take this the wrong way but you haven't even seen the best parts of the state yet. Anything south of Augusta I call Eastern New Hampshire.
It depends on the personality but I'll take Greenville, Lubec, Millinockett or Caribou, Ellsworth, Bangor or Belfast over anything else.

maine, is like a good woman, it has natural beauty, and you never stop appreciating the little things so much, that you don't want to leave.

Being "impartial" is not necessarily a bad thing.

Welcome! Head north next time and see even more beauty.
We just got back from southern Maine, and I couldn't believe the number of cell phone towers that have been put up along the way down (haven't been down there in a while).
I couldn't help but ask the DH why some people complain about those windmills so much when IMHO, the cell phone towers rate 10+ on the "detrimental to the aesthetic beauty of the landscape."

I slept in Scarborough because that's where I got the least expensive place to stay. From there I went into Portland and had great seafood at DiMillo's floating restaurant and man I could tell it was the freshest fish I'd ever had. Of course, I also tried some lobster...can't visit ME without doing that.
I also went to Freeport, Cape Elizabeth, Kennebunkport, Ogunquit and even took Route 1A into New Hampshire. I've never seen such beautiful coast before. Previously I've been to the Oregon coast, California and Cape Cod, but Maine's coast has them all beat...by far!
I had a 4 yr old with me otherwise I would love to have gone northward, at least to Bar Harbor. One day I'd like to spend some time in Baxter St Park as I love the woods. Now, if I could just find a job that's within driving distance, I could visit at least yearly; that would be great.

Well You're interpretation is totally WRONG!
Evidently you've never been to Harpswell, Boothbay, Orrs and Bailey's Islands, Wiscassett,South Freeport,Yarmouth, Falmouth, Cape Elizabeth, and a hundred other towns along the coast! I like the inland areas too but Maine is the coast.
