Border Patrol Demonstrations-Ever wonder what the Border Patrol does? Come find out! A live announcer will tell us about the CBP’s mission, as they show us their latest equipment! Come see their high-tech rescue boat and helicopter! You may not get another chance! 12:00 Sunday at the boat landing.
Customs CBP Demonstrations-Come watch a K9 demonstration! What happens if a dog smells drugs in your car? What happens next? Come see the tool truck being used to find those drugs!
Grand Parade-An interactive Parade with a theme-Make a Joyful Noise! Noise has its rewards! Judges reviewing stand at Aroostook Hospitality Inn. Parade Announcer, Bob Learnard at Dr. Plourde’s. Runs from KC to Legion. Expect the unexpected! 2:00 Saturday, Main Street
Kite Flying Contest-When is the last time YOU flew a kite? It doesn’t matter if you’re are 4 to 94, jock or geek, male or female! If our kite can fly, it can be included in this contest! Extra points for design, consistency with theme and fly-ability. Special consideration for home made kites. Sponsored by Maine Solar and Wind, Fort Kent.
10am Sunday Morning, Boat Landing, Bring a hearty appetite too!
Street Fair, Concession Stands-Food/drink vendors, free meal for parade participants, street performers, face painting, dunking booth, Phun Photos, games, card reading, vintage auto viewing, VBFD trailer, Macarena lessons, information booths (Customs, Border Patrol, etc…), raffle tickets, photo sales, and much, much more! 3pm to 1am Saturday, Main Street
Tractor Pull and eats-In Acadian times, farmers used to challenge each other to see whose horse could tow the largest loads. Those horses are dead now, so the Chamber of Commerce is bringing you today’s antique tractors instead! Come watch these meticulously restored tractors pull the drag on St. Francis Street behind the old Gilbert’s Auto Supply. Bring a hearty appetite!
