Turner or Monmouth
My family (children ages 12,9, and 3) are moving back to Maine in 4 weeks. We are looking in either Turner of Monmouth. I don't know too much about either town. Any information would be wonderful. I can't wait to come home after six years but am a little nervous of starting over. Poland is also a possibility. If anybody has any input, that would be great. Thanks.

all three of the towns you mentioned are nice areas, personally i like monmouth, has a nice mainstreet, and probly could get the most house for your money, as compared to poland and turner.
good choices!!

monmouth has a town theater that puts on plays which are sometimes fun to see if you like that sort of thing. http://www.theateratmonmouth.org/

Turner is mostly a farming community although farmers are selling their lands now as they cant earn a living on a small farm.I own 10 acres on upper street in turner and my taxes are $1600 a year payable in 2 increments. before moving check out the view on upper street. local schools-a bank-an airport-a mini mall and turner is on route 4 which is a maine route to northern ME

The airport in Turner is fine if you own a small plane. You will need to go to Portland for any air travel. Upper Street has beautiful views, but in the winter time the wind will blow you away. Just stay away from Decoster's egg farms and you'll be fine. The best thing about Turner is you are out in the country, yet only a 15 minute drive to Auburn and Lewiston. Cannot beat the convenience. Good Luck with your search.

I just got back home (Petaluma, CA) from Monmouth, where my brother has a grass fed beef farm! and my dad lives on Cobbessee lake! It is sooo gorgeous there! I'd move there in a minute. Have heard the taxes have gone up on lake front property, but it sure is nice waking up to the loons!
Just go for it!
