Default Anyone familiar with a good Marine Biology school there?

We have a 5 y.o. who absolutely loves ALL animals, bugs and nature. She goes around all the time saying when we move to Maine, she's going to be a Marine Biologist. She wants to swim with dolphins and whales. No concept of age or time, so she's ready to go to college as soon as we get there next year! Isn't there a great college there? I think I read about it somewhere.

Here are what I would consider the creme de la creme, but I'm not sure how they handle precocious 5 year olds! I'm sure they all would be delighted with her interest and who knows where that might lead...

University of Maine's Darling Center in Walpole is where she wants to be when she grows up. Oddly enough, I've also heard very good things about the University of Maine at Machias.

CADuck is on a distinguished road
Smile CADuck

Hi,
My daughter left Southern CA to attend school at the University of Maine 3 years ago. She is a marine science major and loves it. We have fallen in love with the area around Orono where the campus is located and plan to move there this summer as well. My daughter also loved everything to do wih the ocean as child, especilly the marine mammals. Give you daughter lots of opportunities to explore her interests. It is so exciting to see kids interested in school and learning. You are doing something right!

Thanks for all the info! We browsed some of the school sites yesterday. Olivia stood here "ooohing" and "ahhhhing" the whole time looking at the pictures and video clips. Some of them even have summer programs for kids starting in the 1st grade. I'm sure she'll be there as often as possible throughout the summers to come!
