Is this the one? It's really cheap and comes with all the equipment! Too bad I don't know anything about the restaurant business.

maine restaurants
I work for Maine Business Brokers and we have MANY people looking at buying businesses so they can move to Maine..usually for two reasons:
1. buying an existing business can be less risky than a start up since you are buying existing cash flows, customers and systems.
2. owning a business may be the only way to earn salaries comparable to out of state jobs.
Good luck with the search and the move!

It seems to me that Mainers tend to support these ventures more readily than you'll find in other places. There's such a strong sense of community, because the towns are small, and we hate to see any business go under. Personally, I plan on driving to wherever Lynn and Russ open their business, and celebrating their Grand Opening.

Thanks so much MsJL for the support and being ready to drive to where ever we open our place.
Just a quick update, things are moving along. We have a name and have joined the Maine Restaurant Association. Lynn and I head up to Maine in September to check out locations (and to celebrate our anniversary).
The menu is coming together and have begun purchasing kitchen items as well.
Sorry that I can't tell you more but we don't want to let the cat out of the bag just yet.
Thanks for all of the support. We cannnot wait until this endeavour is fully realized.

sysco and pfg (formerly northcenter) and u.s. foods are the primary ,,suppliers of restaurants in maine..
there are many ,,suppliers for equipment,,, general carriage, out of windham, caprara, out of winthrop and there is a hobart office in portland, with techs
flaggs in bangor area,,
im sure there are many others,,these are just a few ive worked with or heard about.
if you are looking for used equipment,,,,,you can search online,,id recommend looking at "uncle henry's" thats the largest buy/swap/sell magazine in maine,,it has a search on its site,,so if you are looking for an oven, mixer, or fryolator,,,you could do a search,,,right on the same site.
