Apparently there have been a few places to come and go over the past few years. We have asked the locals why the places have closed and the response has been the food wasn't very good but they want a place to eat. Lynn and I went before the town council to tell them that we want to open a place and they were very excited. Hopefully more details will emerge as we continue our quest.

thats the spirit!!!
reataurants are a high maintenance, detailed business, with a thousand variables. The owners set the tone for the employees, and the atmosphere for the customers and price, for a profit, yet appealing.
the quality and variety(menu) of the chef/owners are of most importance.
reaturants aren't like a low maintence car wash, or storage unit, it depends on the OWNERS, also compared to other businesses, restaurants have a highly perishable product, so you have to be very creative (unlike a hardware store, where the shelf-life is years)
i have respect for any and all business owners, they dedicate there life, and wear many hats.
good luck to you lynn and russ!!! keep giving us the status reports..

Moderator's Note:
As interested as many members may be in Lynn and Russ' continuing quest to open an eatery, it has to kept in mind that City Data has a strict policy of "no advertising".
That being said, posts containing general questions like "What do people in Bangor like to eat for lunch?" are fine, but posts containing information ( such as location, menu, etc.) about the specifics of a member's business could be regarded as a form of advertising for that business.
Please ensure future posts stick to general issues rather than focussing on any specific business venture.
For those who wish to follow Lynn and Russ' progression, Direct Message would the suitable route.
Thanks for everyone's cooperation.

Hey, if you guys have a place open by next year, I would definitely go to wherever it is. Next year, I'm planning on going to Husson College, and hopefully I'll be accepted. If I do get accepted, your restaurant will be my first stop after a 10 hour drive from Pennsylvania.

I know they bought a house in Pittsfield, and last I remember they were working on the restaurant. I don't think they've checked in lately. Hope they are okay.
