There is one type of food unrepresented in our neck of the woods--sushi. Anybody know where there's a good sushi bar?

YES! I figured I would NEVER risk eating raw fish. Turns out, it's not actually raw. My daughter made some and I've been in love ever since. I even get the second rate stuff from Schwan's. Could we do the forum lunch there sometime?

I am reminded of my first venture to town in Vietnam. We went in groups. I had been eating canned food in the chow hall and C-rats at the various FSBs. I had a big salad with fruit, soup and rice with fish. It was a great meal. The next day I had the drizzling sh|ts. It lasted for about a year. When I got home I weighed 147 pounds. My sister was convinced I had been a POW or something. All the Seawolves were skinny when they got home.

Hello Everyone!
Just a quick update from Lynn and myself. We are doing well. Absolutely LOVING the town of Pittsfield and the people here. As far as the restaurant, it is on hold for now. We were very close to purchasing a property but the economy took a downturn at that time (and still is) so we decided to sit tight for a while. Also another place beat us to the punch here in town. We have not had a meal there but plan on doing so soon. So as it may seem disappointing, it really is not. We are happy to be here and figured why rush it. Lets get to know the area and people, settle in and see what shakes out.
Lynn is working in Augusta and I am still freelancing in graphic design/illustration. Things are going well for the two of and are very excited for what lies ahead. If anyone is thinking about moving here and has second thoughts, cast them aside. Not only are you moving to one of the most beautiful places in the country, if not world, but the people are so warm and friendly. They always have a smile, will stop to say "hello", and talk to you like they have known you for years. Being from Tennessee, I can say the folks up here have a Southern hospitality to them. Our neighbors have helped us so much I am not sure if we can ever repay their generosity. I will say this though, if you come here with a chip on your shoulder, a mightier than thou attitude, you will be told about it. The directness and honesty is very refreshing and we love it!!!!
Anyway, that is what is up with us. We will keep everyone posted and promise to check in more. So about being quiet for some time now. Thanks for your concern and thoughts.
Lynn and Russ
