Default Brinswicks Navy Mckeen housing in talks to become low income housing?

How would this work anyone know? Does the state buy the hosues and then rent them for lower money or do they sell them? I'm curious?

I don't believe the State would run any low income properties. Generally they give low income loans to investors through the Maine State Housing Authority. The state can then kick in so much money for families that meet low income requirements. ie. the State would pay $350 of an $800 a month rent.

Any investors who make offers, will likely be considered.

Having watched other base closings over the years, that is what happened.

housing costs drop by 2/3s, and smart folks buy them up. In 4 to 8 years the prices will generally be back to normal.
