Yes this was pretty much a washout for "Kids day". Too bad! They still have the rest of the season starting next weekend to hunt.

P took his granddaughter to the stand this morning. They saw one spike horn and nine does and fawns. She didn't want that buck so she waited.

Any stitches? I have a friend who caught the scope in the eyebrow and had 8 stitches out of it! We've all been there. It's ok to do with a .22 but anything bigger and IT HURTS!

OUCH! You need one of the little rubber eye cups with the accordian sides on it that absorb the shock and keep the metal away from your eye! You could poke an eye out doing that!

The DH did that once and all the guys at his work were sure that I hit him!

I went to Cabelas yesterday. It was Packed with hunters and folk. Lots of patrons in camo looking like they were headed for the woods as soon as they left.

Cabela's is getting popular....too popular. I went there to buy some rain pants and 20 guage 6 shot for my bird trip. The place was packed! I ended up getting the shells at Wal-Mart and the pants at LL Bean! I love Cabela's but they need to hire more check out people.

Me too! It beats watching them sit on the couch.

DS got a crack at a doe, but missed - no matter, he was happy that he at least saw one.
