This is to further a point brought up by dmyankee concerning ravens eating the eyeballs out of roadkill. My question is do they do that to fish too? Last winter there were a bunch of people catching Northern Pike in the Androscoggin river in Brunswick. Since pike are not the most edible fish on earth most people just threw them up on the ice for the Bald Eagles to eat. When walking around to look at the growing pile of frozen pike scattered about we noticed that all of them were missing their eyes and thought it very strange. The rest of the fish was virtually intact but none of them had eyes??? We thought aliens were to blame but now I suspect ravens or possibly crows??

I'm baking to fill a care box for my brother and his buddies in Afghanistan. The oven is keeping this part of the house arm. I think we'll probably have a fire tonight.

Mmmmbaking goodies!!! Always a fun thing to do when it's cool outside!

On a side note......a lady called me back about the home owners package today....when she asked what city I live in and I told her Moss Point...she thought I said Miles Point.....and here I was thinking that I didn't have the southern twang going on... going to hide and cry now. I have always been told that I don't sound like I am from the south!

I'm thinking I should get some loaves of bread into the freezer to have on hand for the winter. Send well wishes and prayers to your brother, along with that care package, MW. My two nephew have been to the Middle East so many times that I've lost count. And the younger one is going back to Iraq again in the spring. I used to send them baby wipes and ziplock bags. They thought I was crazy until they figured out that they could take some of the wipes in the bags when they went on patrol, etc. They said it helped a lot, being able to wipe some of the dust off and get something wet against their skin.

Are you insinuating that it's a bad thing to be from the south? No wonder I get grief around here every time I open my mouth. Come on, Tim. We can "twang" at 'em together until they beg for mercy and stop picking on us.
