Kenyon's Grist Mill in Usquepaug, Rhode Island still grinds corn meal on stone wheels.....they sell the meal or a corn bread and muffin mix. It is pricey.....but authentic and good.
Rhode Island Johnny Cake Corn Meal, Yellow Corn Meal, Red and Blue Corn Meal

Actually, I would be willing to drive to Bangor to get it! If there was a place in Bangor that sold it, I would drive over there to get it. So, if you're serious, send me a DM. And I'll be glad to pay you for it.
I checked into ordering it and it cost more to ship it than it cost for the corn meal!

Does anyone need a job?
At the commissary in Bangor they have announced two new openings for store associates.
These are GS-04 openings [Salary Range from $8.00 to $15.00 USD per hour]
These positions are open to the general public.
The current opening on USAJOBs has been open since:03/24/2009, though that is agency wide. I do not know if this one store is going to fill these two positions from that general open listing, or if they will be listing seperate opening announcements.
Again they are looking to hire two people at the commissary. Any US citizen can apply, vets have preference.

Tab: Search Jobs
Then about center screen like 3 lines from the top-ish, is 'Agency search';
In the second box you can select under DOD the sub-agency DECA [Defense Commissary Agency].
Do not click anything else. Go way to the bottom of the screen and find 'search for jobs'
Store Associate Eastern
It is listed as a general opening through-out the nation.
I do not know if they are planning to list the openings separately just for this store. But they did announce yesterday that they are looking to hire two new 'Store Associates'. So it should either be via this general opening or else they will list a separate opening.
Vacancy Announcement: DECA-09-246078 EASTERN
Fighting through the USAJOBs website is a major pain. And you really need to search through it again each day. But B was hired right away using USAJOBs, when she applied.
And of course vets can bump non-vets.
USAJOBs has many ways to search for openings, and what I have suggested it clearly not the only method.

The link forest posted is the announcement, and yes...this is a federal job, so no, it's not going to be easy to find...
I should mention that we are hiring for 24 hour positions, at times there are extra hours, but usually your core hours. The other thing I should mention, just before people waste their time, they Usually do NOT work around any other commitments or jobs, the stand is that this job is number one (even though 24 hours, and that's not to say they will not)
On the upside, the pay is good, you get sick and leave (vacation) time as you earn them. As I recently found out, if you get hurt at work, (along with covering all medical expenses) you lose NO pay, even when you shift to workers comp.
