To decide if you really CAN live in Maine..... Once in mid winter and once during one of the bug seasons when they are full force! LOL If you can be happy and live with both of those, then your good to go!!!

Where are you moving from?

The number of visits, can vary with where you visit.

Where are you going to be moving to?

We moved here from Amsterdam, NY, and am VERY glad we did. Amsterdam is nice for what it is, but it, and this part of NY, are not Maine.

Will you be coming here as a retired person, or working stiff?

As for the best time … Fall and Fall.

As for the prettiest times, Fall and Winter.

Once in the winter - maybe February and once during mud season - maybe April or May.

Spring is considered mud season due to snow melting and higher temps beginning. It turns everything into mud for a month or so until the ground begins to dry out - in Eastport it doesn't start drying out until May or early June.

If you can survive mud season, winter is a breeze.

Come anytime.

If you have never seen snow, then sure make one visit mid-winter. But otherwise dont sweat it.

Bugs are bugs, no big deal.

Snow is only a worry, if your somewhere that they dont plow.

Just come up and enjoy yourself.
