I see that your "Republican" (cough, giggle, snort) Senator Snowe is going to vote for socialized medicine. Is this what the majority of Mainers want in your opinion?

No- Though with the Democrats in firm control we all have little choice on the matter. They did not listen to the ire of the people during the August recess at the town hall meetings and they will not listen now. Obama wants this and the Dems seem determined to give it to him. As for Olympia Snowe she is much more of a Democrat than she is a Republican and her vote is no surprise. The surprise is it took her THIS long to jump the fence.

I suggest you call her office and voice your opinion. Including the fact you will be voting for, and donating to, anyone but her come the next election. Tell all your like minded friends to do this too. The people elect these morons, they are supposed to vote what we want, not what they think we should have. We don't need government to be our daddy.

You should still tell her what you think. This has to go jump through more hoops before it is a (unconstitutional) law.

She doesn't care what we think. She only cares about being accepted by the Washington elite.

Actually, as a retired insurance agent, I like the idea of socialized medicine. Mainers and everyone else in this great country might have had a lot more money in their pockets if the insurance premiums hadn't been so astronomically high.

I think some form of socialized medicine, at least in the form of a subsidized option , will help rein in the costs of private medical insurance which is mostly responsible for our skyrocketing health costs. If health care was truly for health and not for profit we wouldn't be in this mess.

I support my State Senator and I support health care reform. I think I'll take your advice and call her office to express my opinion. I do think she is listening to the majority of her constituents. Conversation and debate are great but, name calling is juvenile and gets us nowhere.
