It's a big'un! But I had to laugh out loud because where but in Maine would a photo of such gore and carnage be greeted with glee. Arrrr...I'm a carnivore, too!

DH and I were just wondering how long it will take the state to establish a moose hunt in southern Maine. They're all over the place where we go skulking!

Wow. They won't be buying pre-packaged, hormone-infused, and from "God-only-knows" where beef for a while will they?

The DH shot one the year before last that was just a tad smaller than that one. We ate well that year.

I know, right? I'll take this carnage over the alternatives.

Default what do you see?

I see a lot of fine eating hanging from those rafters!
Someday before I'm too old I'll get drawn in the lottery, I will, I will, I will.

Arrowed a nice doe last week and have been enjoying and sharing the venison with friends. A perfect communion. Kitchen filled with the scent cooking venison, apple pie and mulled cider...all is well with the world.

Congrats to the hunter!! Thanks for sharing.

Excellent moose! Congrats to your neighbor. I have had three permits and loved every ounce of moose meat we had.
Tell them you'll cook if they provide the roast!!
