where to cut down a Christmas tree
So where should we check out for a Christmas tree, we used to cut our own in Washington State, and we really want to get back into making a family day of cutting our own tree again, any ideas where we could go
Thanks

Ask some of your neighbors where they go. Elston may know of places down that way to cut your own..

A local family goes back onto our land tipping for wreaths.
We are a long ways from Portland, though anyone is welcome to cut-down a holiday tree here.

Here's a link to a list of tree farms.

If you scroll down to McNeally Farm, it is in Gorham...
Have fun!

A buddy of mine in Mars Hill grows christmas trees...and it's a ten year crop...but definitely a farm...you don't plant them, them cut them 10 years later...there's lots of work that goes into them every year. No Charlie Brown christmas trees on a tree farm...that's because of all the hard work that goes into them each year.

We've got a couple Christmas tree farms in the area. I think there was a government assist about 25-30 years ago to encourage this. I remember seeing a lot of seedlings started when I first moved to Maine.
I thought about getting my tree from a local , if I can only get back into the holiday spirit. It gets harder and harder for me each year.

We go to Hanscome's tree farm on Mountfort Road in Yarmouth. I have nothing to do with them so it is not a shamless promotion for them. It's just the closest tree farm around. Last year they were $35.00. You cut it and they bring it out to your car for you on a 4 wheeler. They are gorgeous trees and well worth the money.
