OK, I am going to ask something that is likely to enfuriate if you dont get where Im coming from but I cant resist.

What is America but the land of the free, home of the brave, and a land built on freedom of speech? AND people who DIED fighting for this freedom. You or I may not want to say these things or even HEAR these things, but we should be fighting to the death that people have the right to say what they want. This is how real change is brought about... I mean just look at all the discussion it provoked just right here.

Anyhow thats what America means to me and its what makes it great because in any other country you would be shot for saying such a thing... and if we started shooting the people here that said those things, it would NOT be America anymore.

No one is advocating shooting anyone for saying F...America. If they have that attitude I think they should live elsewhere. I think that attitude shows a complete disrespect and disdain for this country and slaps the face of everyone who has ever served to defend her. I also believe that people who choose to say things like that had better be sure they are not in a place where that type of comment would not land them in a bit of trouble. It's also ok in some people's eyes to burn the flag though you would be foolish to do it in the parking lot of the local VFW lest you are looking for a good thrashing. If people want to be antagonistic don't be surprised if someone knocks them on their a$$ for expressing their controversial views. They won't get a lot of sympathy from most people.

Well I dont think you are asking for alot if all you want someone to do is change the word from America to Govt. They would be wise to understand the viewpoints of those they live around if they seriously expect to gain any support from the locals, but at this point Im guessing they shot themselves in the foot.

Cheers all. If I ever write in here again, I'll steer clear of taboos.

He didnt say f.. The government.
In the context I'm not so sure about that, I've been around people like him, and it's the government they hate even if they say "America" (which for some is a play on the words on the false sort of patriotism of some who display the "God bless America" stickers, which they actually aim towards loyalty to the government (and no I'm not saying all who have those stickers are that way but I know around here a lot of people put them up as a show of support for the feds and war in Iraq against the anti-war protests)...yes it would be wise to say the government or the feds instead to avoid responses like yours. Not everyone has good political sense. That sort of thing plagued the take back Vermont campaign, people smashing cars (whichw ere purchased for the event) originally owned by socialists to bits in the capitol didn't do much to help us as much fun as it was.
