Metro-who-ual?

Personally, I'll take nice grease-laden fries. I'd prefer to have them deeply fried in trans fats - the likes of which offer the added bonus of the dulcet sounds of my arteries slamming shut as I enjoy them.

I say cast the dietary cautions to the winds once and a while! Feel free not to call 911 if I collapse in your presence however - my insurance probably won't pay.

Maineah, is this poll for your local curmudgeon group that meets monthly?

Maybe let the election run one more day to let last minute stragglers in?
The chair recognises the representative from Pine Point. The motion is carried and the poll will remain open for a few more days. Tater tot lovers here's your chance!!

I had a feeling it might go this way. I'd have to say there times I like a good tater tot, can't really think of a food they go with maybe hamburgers or something, but most of the time I'll take the French fries and especially with any fried Maine seafood!
This statement is hereby withdrawn and the poll will remain open by popular demand.

No it's actually for a real group, The Sons of Amvets Squadron #2 from Yarmouth. We are a service organization dedicated to serving Veterans and their families.
We do an in house dinner at Post #2 for the Amvets Veterans and post membership once a month from August through May. We usually feed between 60 and 80 Veterans and their family members on a Friday night. We are not in it for profit so the dinners are quite reasonable and popular among the membership. Three other groups do dinners on the other Fridays of the month so there is always a nice dinner for the Vets and their families to attend on every Friday throughout the winter.
We had a member (ironically from The County ) who suggested the Tater Tot idea. We thought we'd try a few to see if anyone wanted them but we don't want to replace French Fries with Tater Tots completely. The poll will be used to show the membership what a cross section of Mainers who are certainly familiar with a traditional Fried Haddock dinner think about replacing the fries with tots. So this is actually a valid poll with a real purpose!

What!! You won't eat Maine potatoes? My husband only eats Maine russets or reds...sometimes fingerlings from the local farm.

Me I like it plain, some tartar sauce for fried clams, nothing for shrimp or scallops (pronounced scALLops not skalips)
That's how I pronounce scallops and I was callled a M******* for doing so.

I went w/ the fries. Tator Tots are okay w/ fish sticks but don't do any justice to the haddock.

Recipe for the buckle below, for the Mainer that has never had it.

Nice poll!

It's coffee cake or crumb cake with blueberries? Never heard it called that, don't know why you're confused. My ex's grandmother had a bakery on Stonington for years, ate many delicious desserts from there. I was always more concerned with eating them than knowing what their official names were. I'm more partial to the hello dolly bars anyway.
