Around here?? In CT maybe or New York but everyone I know says SCALLOPS. I said scALLops in Martha's Vineyard and the guy in the fish place thought I was from there. I wrote to Red Lobster and Long John Silver's to tell them the mispronounced the word on their commercials and it was taken as a slight to us locals....never heard back.

Cape Codders say ScALLops...don't miss shucking those suckers. Or Oysters (Ersters) either. Ok, that is what Dad called Oysters..don't know if that was Cape Codders called Oysters or not.

MY Dad used to say "erysters" and I thought it was his old TX accent creeping in...r's where they don't belong and all. At any rate there isn't much for seafood that I don't like. Shoot, now I'm hungry.

tots always were called Mexi-fies out here, served at Taco Time, and a couple of burger joints, but other than that I will go with the poster who said "outside of middle school". Maineah you made me hungry for some Haddock, I ate as muck Haddock as I did lobster when we were back there in the Summer. But will have to settle for some cod tonight.
