Well the dinner is in three hours and I'm happy to report we nixed the tater tot idea! Since we are not heartless and to show we care about our Veteran's health along with the Golden Brown Maine French Fries we are offering baked Maine potatoes as an alternative to the fries. Compromise is easy!

Great idea, My DW often has a Baker instead of fries with her fried fish.

Clearly the tater tot has a serious image problem. I suggest a new branding campaign and a marketing blitz to revive its reputation. A name change may even be in order.

Here's a recipe for tater tot casserole. Maybe I'll make it for Thanksgiving:

Sorry for the silly question, but what's wrong with Maine potatoes?

The few times I tried to be loyal, I ended up tossing close to half in the trash because they were black; the rest were soggy. I like a nice dry, fluffy potato. Idaho Russets never let me down. Out here WI Russets are plentiful, but again, soggy. I will happily pay the extra $$ for Idaho's finest.

Great idea to offer a baked potato as an alternative! Way to go, Maineah!
