Hello! I would like to start this thread with a giant positive thank you to all of the wonderful people who work in this field. I was wondering if anybody on this forum is part of this program because I am the President of our Van Buren Main Street Maine Board of Directors and was considering another resource to share with our dedicated group of volunteers! I love to share successful ideas and maybe some not so successful ideas. LOL!!! I am an incurable optimist and a true believer that "Feedback is the breakfast of champions!" If you are a Main Street Maine Executive Director, Program Manager, or Board Member please chime in and let me know what your group of volunteers is currently working on. I am interested in local changes, facade projects, beautification projects, tree shade projects, etc... I also enjoy publically announcing changes in our communities so that we can share the benefits of having a striving community.

We all know that Van Buren has it's share of problems. Every community has problems. If we work together we can get past them and focus on making forward progress for the towns we live in. Please respond!

Adam

Brooklin doesn't have any of these programs. The summer people have far too many ideas as it is and we don't need to give them another vehicle to use.

What does a: "Main Street Maine Board" do?

I don't think that folks in my township are very interested in:
local changes, facade projects, beautification projects, or tree shade projects.

Our 'forward progress' is very subtle.

Default Limestone

I am part of the Limestone Downtown Revitalization Committee. We are working with Dave Wylie in an effort to win a $10,000 planning grant next year. I was planning to travel to Augusta on Friday to attend the Downtown Institute Economic Restructuring: Strategic Business Retention and Rcruitment Help for Downtowns but the weather and long drive by myself is discouraging me. I would like to know what things worked in Van Buren and would like to invite you to our next meeting on January 4. We will meet at the town office at 6:30 p.m.
