They are twins who build manned and unmanned tracked and wheeled vehicles for the military and private sector.

They're Mainers whose company is based in Berwick.
Sadly, their father died in Dec. of '06 before the brothers realized their dream.
True Yankee ingenuity at it's finest.

Thank you.

So really for Defense Contractors in Maine we have:
Howe & Howe in Berwick;
Kittery [and all of the dozens of corporations that support that shipyard];
Bath [likewise];
Cutler [the corporations that continue to operate and maintain the transmitter and powerplant];
and Loring [the corporation that re-builds HMMVs after they have been blown to pieces].

Anyone else?

I had been driving my tractor on a jeeptrail on our other property every week, just to keep the trail usable this winter. But after this last storm I had not done so. I let the snow pile up a bit.

Well today was a nice sunny day, so I decided to take my tractor over there. I scooped out the snowbank left by the plows, 4X4 engaged and off I went.

Not more than 3 foot from the edge of the pavement I was stuck. All four wheels spinning real good.

Then I got to wondering how much DOT would fine me if I gouged up their blacktop with my backhoe trying to pull me out.

Eventually I got out.

So I am thinking, that maybe I dont want to go back there again until next spring.

Please, Maine city data posters--keep me off the noVA forum. There are some arrogant, disturbed people there.

The Maine forum has been so quiet. I miss Maineah.

Today I came across a video called "Trees to Tribune". It's a 1937 documentary put out by the Chicago Tribune Company . While not directly involving Maine the old time way described of cutting wood and making paper might interest some here.

Google "fry cook on venus" and you will find it. (Yes, it's safe)

Enjoy!
