Yep, one of my corgis sat down on a red ant nest and the Vet had to do a lot of treatments on her, including cleaning up the blood, shaving her hip, antibiotics and anti-itch meds. She didn't get all her hair grown back in until December and this happened in August.

Seven months of winter, a couple of unbearably hot, humid days in central Maine in July. I remember seeing the thermometer sign at Bangor Savings Bank downtown Bangor at 100 degrees late on a summer night.

And it IS cooler on the coast, but "inland" for comparison can be right behind the house.
