Default workshop on basic woodland management, 8 Feb

There is scheduled a workshop on basic woodland management.

Monday, 8 February at 6:30-8:30pm in Searsmont.

"Basics of Managing your Woodlot" sponsored by Georges River Land Trust.

Morten Moesswilde, the Midcoast District Forester of the Maine Forest Service will present it at the Searsmont Community Building.

The workshop is intended to help landowners understand a few of their options and provide some ideas for management of their property for wildlife, timber, recreation, aesthetics, or other goals.

Discussions will include: boundary lines, forest health, thinning, and forest management plans.

The goal of the workshop is to introduce woodland owners to some basic elements of forest stewardship so that they can plan for the long term, whether or not it includes timber harvesting. There will be time for questions and discussion.

This is part of an annual Walks & Talks series that connects people with their vast outdoor resources.

Please call to register for the workshop: 207-594-5166
