Default Red Lobster, one last time

Imho, the warm water spiney lobsters are pretty sad. Florida lobster, ewwwww. Nasty stuff.
Right--Red Lobster is owned by General Mills Corporation. Can't speak for anybody else, but I for one sure as hell don't want some frozen stuff from Thailand on my plate in Maine! That's just crazy. It'd be like eating at Pizza Hut in Rome. A chain just cannot equal the same experience you'd get at any independently-owned seafood place anywhere in the state. Try Eaton's Lobster Pool in Sunset, on Little Deer Isle, once and you'll see what I mean in half a heartbeat.

A girl I went to highschool moved to Texas years ago. She sent us a note last year ( I believe it was last year) that she had visited a Red Lobster and they were displaying " Bangor Maine Lobster."

She said to her husband now,
"Listen, I've lived in Maine all my life, and there is no lobstermen harboring around the Bangor area with their boats." Maine yes, but Bangor??

Isn't that like selling "Ocean front property in Bangor Maine?"

I thought that was a little funny.

Anyone remember the phone company commercial that showed a lobsterman hauling in the Penobscot river?

No I haven't MW, but do you think that's where that Red Lobster got their idea from?
Anyone around Bangor been hauling lobsters out of the Penobscot River lately?
Is it a secret gold mine there?

Driving toward Auburn on Rt.#4, it will be on the right, before you get to Lake Auburn.

Not technically a restaurant though they serve a delicious Bailey's Irish Cream Sundae among the varied dessert and light pub fare menu. The Freeport Cabaret just opened on Depot Street in Freeport and boasts live music several nights a week. Mrs. Maineah and I were there cuttin' a rug on the dance floor to the sounds of the Dave Miller Band lastnight!
Nice place....If you're in Freeport check it out!

I went to Sebago Brewing Company at the Maine Mall last Thursday for lunch (party of 16) and one of the folks who went had fish and chips. Well, the fish serving was absolutely huge and very fresh (we figured it was haddock by the way it tasted and flaked off his fork). Yum. So don't discount this place. It's a *local* chain. My southwestern chicken salad was very good as well.

Muddy Rudder in Yarmouth is always a good stand-by. My in-laws from Vermont just visited this weekend, and both had the lobster pie. Excellent as usual (they've been going here for about 10 years now). I had the chicken Marsala, and it was just as good as always.

Kai Adams is the owner of Sebago Brewing Co. I worked with him at Sea Dog Brewing in Camden in the '90's. He is a great brewer and a great guy. I'll pass on your accolades for his place.
