I forgot about Kens. Does they still run the place at the bowling ally across the street from the main restaurant as well? they used to have a rib dinner over there that was HUGE for $7.95 including your first drink. Never did finish the racks of ribs they served for that price. Always had lunch the next day as well.
Then there was the place in Skowhegan that was on the right hand side if you were headed from downtown out toward Kens, just at the bottom of the long hill. It was on Madison Ave. can't remember the name, but they had great breakfasts there. I want to say Cherries, or Sherrys or something like that.

Cherriers! That's the one I was thinking about. Man, when ever I had work anyplace close to that area I stayed in Skowhegan because in all honesty I never once got a meal that was just "OK", they were all good and large portions. Stayed at the little motel up by Wal-Mart, K-Mart whatever it is up past the fairgrounds so much the owner knew me by name and I got a huge discount. I would call ahead and he always had the same room for me and one summer I just kept the key because I spent the entire summer working out of town. He would rent "my" room for the week-end and had it ready by Monday evening for me, every week.

what's Kona? not good? oh, is that downtown? Is Hilltop in Ellsworth still good? When I lived there right after college they did their own baking and the prime rib was amazing!

Kona is seafood and steak. It's past the Chinese place, up the hill. I've never eaten downtown! The booth and table was made of plywood. NOT comfortable. I haven't been to Hilltop for a few years. What we really need is a bakery in Calais.
