With our disabled son, it can be tricky eating out, but don't want to ALWAYS cook, so need recommendations for really good take out meals!

I have never been to the Maritime Cafe, so I can't comment as to how the food or service is. I don't find that many locals go there, though...
-Fisherman's Friend, The Harbor Cafe- both on Main Street, are both good family restaurants that could offer take-out.
-The Cockatoo on the Oceanville Road is an interseting find in Stonington- Suzen Carter serves some nice dishes, mostly inspired by Portugese cooking.
-The Whale's Rib at The Pilgrim's Inn (Deer Isle Village) is nice as well- though it is packed on most nights, the food is good.
-Mikey G's is a newer eatery, I've only eaten there once. It seemed very bar-oriented rather than food-oriented, but that was when it first opened, too.
-Lily's is good for a take-out, too. They have some very yummy food...
-For basic burgers and fries (and ice cream!), both Lodie's and Harbor Ice Cream are good, Lodie's offer soft-serve, and Harbor Ice Cream offers hard ice cream (Gifford's- yum..).
-There is also Goose Cove Lodge, which has changed hands and is operating on a limited basis this summer, but still offering dining in the dining room. Beautiful location. I'm not sure how the menu will change, but in the past GCL has been one of the finer places to eat on Deer Isle.
There are some other restaurants in the surrounding towns that might also be of interest- the Bagaduce Luncheon in Brooksville (take out, but beautiful location on the Bagaduce Reversing Falls), the Brooklin Inn and Morning Moon Cafe in Brooklin, the Baker's Cafe and Pantry restaurants in Blue Hill, etc.
